Better than restaurant dumplings and a fraction of the cost, these homemade dumplings with an Asian flare and homemade chunky salsa is a satisfying and delicious treat.
Ingredients
Dumpling
- 1 lb. ground Pork or Chicken
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Chicken Bouillon
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Green Onions, chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Ginger, minced
- 3 tsp Boiling Oil
- 2 Tbsp Chives, chopped
- 1 Package Wonton Wrappers
Chunky Dumpling Salsa
- 3 Tbsp Green Onion, chopped
- 3 Tbsp Cilantro, chopped
- 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced
- 1/2 Tbsp Ginger, minced
- 2 Tbsp Roasted Peanuts, chopped
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 4 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 6 Tbsp Chili Oil
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
Instructions
Dumpling
- In a large bowl mix all ingredients together except wonton wrappers.
- Place a small amount of the meat mixture onto a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with water and seal together in desired shape.
- Place in skillet and brown bottom on low heat.
- Once browned, add about 1/2 to 1 cup water to the skillet then cover and steam on low for 5 minutes.
Chunky Dumpling Salsa
- In a medium bowl mix all ingredients together.
- Serve with dumplings.
Notes
In our video we used cornstarch with the water. After consideration, we decided to use only water as we are not making a sauce, only steaming the dumplings.
