Once you've made your own homemade Mexican salsa, you'll never go back to store bought again. With fresh vegetables and the perfect amount of spice, this salsa is muy bueno!

Ingredients

  • 6 Roma Tomatoes
  • 6 Tomatillos
  • 1/4 White Onion
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • 2 Serrano Peppers
  • 2 Dried Chile De Arbol
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Chicken Bouillon
  • 1/2 Red Onion, chopped fine
  • 6 Roma Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 bunch Fresh Cilantro
  • 4 Green Onions, chopped fine
  • 2 Limes, freshly squeezed

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 6 Roma tomatoes, 2 tomatillos, 1/4 of a white onion, 2 cloves garlic, 1 jalapeno, 2 serrano peppers, and dried chilis. Cook until charred on all sides, remove from heat.
  2. Place charred veggies in a blender or food processor along with olive oil, salt, pepper, and chicken bouillon. Pulse but do not over mix as it should be chunky.
  3. Remove salsa to a large bowl.
  4. Finely dice 1/2 red onion and add to the salsa mixture. Finely dice and add 6 Roma tomatoes, chopped cilantro, green onions, and lime juice.
  5. Taste for seasoning and add salt if necessary.
