Ingredients

  • 4 Mandarin Oranges, peeled and cut in half
  • 1/2 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2/3 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the mandarin oranges. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, add the egg, 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Whisk until combined.
  3. Add the milk and whisk. Sift in the flour and baking powder. Whisk.
  4. Heat a skillet and melt butter. Add the 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk. Cook until lightly browned. Place halved oranges on top then pour batter evenly over the oranges.
  5. Cover then over very low heat cook for 18 minutes.
  6. Invert cake onto plate, slide back into skillet, continue cooking over very low heat for 3 minutes.
  7. Place onto a plate, cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, slice and serve.
